Skytropolis - Indoor Theme Park in Genting Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia - Day 07 - Ep 18

Day 07 - Ep 18 - Skytropolis is one of the best indoor theme parks of Malaysia and is a featured attraction of Genting Highlands. It spans over 400,000 square feet and is a fun filled treat for everyone in your family!


Skytropolis indoor theme park is at Level 1 of First World Plaza and is opened daily from 10 am to 10 pm. There are a number of rides that both children and adults can enjoy:

Children rides - Jumping Spurs, Loop de Loop, Boo Boo Bump, Whirly Bugs, Ride'Em round
Family rides - Skyscraper, Tea Cups, Royal Carousel, Balloon Race, Copper Express, Space Cadets

The Mesmerizing Genting Highlands in Pahang, Malaysia - Day 07 - Ep 17

Day 07 - Ep 17 - This attraction was the highlight of our Malaysia tour and is definitely one of the top most places we recommend for you guys, who are planning to visit Malaysia. The climate of Malaysia is equatorial which means hot and humid and that too, throughout the year. But, Genting Highlands is a different story altogether.


Genting Highlands has a spring-like climate, with yearly temperatures no higher than 25 °C (77 °F) and rarely falling below 14 °C (57 °F) yearly. The lowest temperature of Genting Highlands is 8.4 °C (47.1 °F). [Reference: wikipedia]

Genting Highlands is actually on the top of mountain called Mount Ulu Kali and is around 1,800 meters high. You can reach Genting Highlands via road through private or public transport. Or, you can also use cable cars or Gandola to reach top station of Genting Highland. There are two cable car operators and you can use anyone of them to go back and forth. Older Genting Skyway and the newer Awana Skyway. However, our recommendation is to go via road, you will enjoy the best weather of Malaysia, with lush green forest, smooth metaled roads taking you right through the clouds.

China Town or Petaling Street Market in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Day 06 - Ep 15

Day 06 - Ep 15 - China Town or Petaling Street Market is fun to visit but not good for serious buying. Being a tourist it was a good experience to visit and experience different colors and flavors of the market. But if you are looking for a place to do some serious shopping with quality and expecting honest deals without any fraud, then this is for sure not the place.


Almost all products in the market are fake or copies and this is the reason why prices are that much low. But this is not why I don't recommend shopping from these markets or this one in particular. Like many others, I too knew that these markets sells fake or copies of original products and it was not a shock for me either. But the reason why I don't recommend serious buying from these markets is the prevailing dishonesty and increasing chances of fraud. Knowing what you are purchasing and paying for it is one thing and I have no issues with that. But people selling you stuff and doing fraud by selling defective or damaged items intentionally is what sucks.

I know, not all sellers are like that, we had wonderful experience enjoying fresh sugar cane juice, eating sweet honey dew melon slices from fresh fruit vendors. We got good bargain deals of women hand bags. But, I was short on device storage in my mobile and camera, so I already had a plan to get an SD Card from somewhere and I when I saw that stall in the market selling a huge number of gadgets and mobile/camera accessories, I went to purchase one from there. And, that turn out to be my mistake. Lesson learned: never ever purchase electronic items from these kind of markets. I played smartly though and checked the SD Card by installing it on my mobile phone before paying for it and verified that mobile shows the SD Card capacity to be 64GB. I thought that its all good, but it turns out that when you copy files SD Card won't complain or throw any error. But when you try to browse files in the SD Card you will find nothing. So, I end up wasting money, time and precious content.

Trying Malaysian Cuisine Breakfast - Roti Cenai, Tosai and Teh Tarik at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Day 07 - Ep 16

Day 07 - Ep 16 - At 6 o'clock in the morning - we are out to spot a cool restaurant where we can try the local Malaysian cuisine breakfast. Yes, we are here at Ampang Point, a downtown area of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.


Today we are going to experience first hand the Malaysian cuisine breakfast, and we are hoping to try one of the most recommended local Malaysian breakfast dish called Roti Cenai.

That's not all :) we are going to try Tosai as well, along with Teh Tarik, which literally means "Pulling Tea". So come on, ride along with us and let us enjoy the local Malaysian cuisine breakfast together!

Dataran Merdeka, Sultan Abdul Samad Building and Masjid Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Day 06 - Ep 14

Day 06 - Ep 14 - Guys today we are going to visit three famous attractions of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They are:

Dataran Merdeka or Independence Monument of Malaysia
Sultan Abdul Samad Building (of historical importance)
Masjid Negara or National Mosque of Malaysia


The good thing about visiting all these attractions is that they are close by each other and are actually around a famous Merdeka Square Park. Two of the attractions are right there, around the park and the third one is at the walk of 13 minutes (5 minutes by car) from the park. So you can easily cover all the three in small amount of time.

The best place to park is on the designated parking spaces along the park boundary and parking is free of charge. It is a big park and on one end is a 95 meters long, one of the tallest in the world, flag pole with Malaysian flag. On the other end of the park is Dataran Merdeka or the Independence monument of Malaysia. It also has a beautiful fountain that adds to the beauty of the monument.

Sultan Abdul Samad Building is right across the road and spans across almost the whole length of the park. You can easily and safely enjoys the beautiful historical building view and architecture from the park. At night, it looks more beautiful because of aesthetically projected lights on the building.

Both the Dataran Merdeka and Sultan Abdul Samad Building have strong historical value in Malaysian history and we recommend reading about it on wikipedia and/or official Malaysian websites.

Third attraction is Masjid Negara, the beautiful blue colored mosque and also referred as National Mosque of Malaysia. If you want to walk towards this mosque from the park, it is about 13 minutes of walk. On a vehicle, total commute is about 5 minutes.

Trying Malaysian Cuisine at Signatures Food Court of Suria KLCC in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Day 06 - Ep 13

Day 06 - Ep 13 - After visiting the Petronas Twin Towers (see previous episode for details), it was almost lunch time and we head towards the famous Signatures Food Court of Suria KLCC. Suria KLCC is an upmarket retail center at the feet of the Petronas Towers. It features mostly foreign luxury goods and high-street labels. Its attractions include an art gallery, an underwater aquarium and also a Science center.


The Signatures Food Court has a lot of different options which offers both local/Malaysian as well famous international cuisines. We were obviously looking for a local Malaysian cuisine experience and we finally selected a restaurant called Ahh-Yum by Kampong Kravers and ordered following:

  1. Nasi Lemak Berempah - RM 15.90 - Very tasty :) & recommended! - Fried chicken, white boiled sticky coconut rice, Sambal sause, hard bioled egg, peanutes, anchovies, crackers and cucumber
  2. Soto Nasi Imput/Mihun - RM 15.90 - Average taste, won't try again :( - Rice noodles in soupy broth, chopped green onions, chopped red peppers, bean sprouts, hard boiled egg, peanuts, crispy crackery rice noodles as topping and a locally made some traditional black sauce. (there was also two fritter-kind-of thing in orangish-color on the top, wasn't really able to figure out what that was)
  3. We tried one more dish from a different restaurant called Chicken Rice & Wantan Mee, and the dish is called BBQ Chicken - RM 11 - Good taste :) - Grilled chicken breast chunks served on top of white boiled rice with sambal sauce and some greens on top. Accompanied with a very light plain soup.

Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Day 06 - Ep 12

Day 06 - Ep 12 - The tallest building of Malaysia, which used to be the tallest building of the world from 1998 to 2004, is a jewel of a kind. Petronas Twin Towers are still the tallest twin towers of the world. It comprises of 88 floors above ground floor and 7 underground floors (2 concourse and 5 parking floors).


Observatory deck is at 86th floor and a famous tourist attractions.

Sky Lobby at 42nd floor connects the twin towers and is a hanging semi-glass tube-structured lobby or bridge, whose ends are connected to each of the twin towers.

You can purchase the entry tickets for Observatory deck (includes Sky Lobby access as well) at the concourse mezzanine floor. The tickets prices are as follows:

Petronas Twin Towers Visit Ticket Fees (for foreigners):
Adult - RM 89
Child (3 - 12 years): RM 33
Senior (60+ years): RM 42

Visitor Timings:
Tuesdays - Sundays (Monday is off)
9:00 am to 9:00 pm - tickets sale starts at 8:30 am
